Box Day privacy policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Box Day! is a puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Mac made by Static Toad Labs (Ireland). The short version: we collect no data at all. There are no ads, no analytics and no third-party code in the app.
What Box Day stores
- Your progress and settings (stars, streaks, stickers, hats, statistics and preferences) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. They are never sent to us, and they are deleted if you delete the app.
- Levels you build or receive in the Workshop are saved on your device in the same way.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or Apple Account. Box Day only asks Apple whether "Box Day Pro" is unlocked on your account.
Game Center (optional)
If you're signed in to Game Center, Box Day sends your achievements and leaderboard scores (such as total stars, levels delivered and your best Daily streak) to Apple's Game Center so you can compare them with other players. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Static Toad Labs doesn't receive it. You can sign out or change what others see in Settings › Game Center on iPhone and iPad, or System Settings › Game Center on the Mac.
What Box Day does not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics or tracking of our own.
- No collection of your location, contacts or photos.
- No ads, and no third-party code that could collect data.
- Apart from Apple's purchase checks and Game Center, no network requests. The game works fully offline.
Notifications
If you turn on the Daily reminder, Box Day schedules local notifications on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. You can turn reminders off at any time, in Box Day's Settings or in your device's Settings app.
Sharing
When you share a Daily result or a level you built, Box Day hands a result card, a short text summary or a level code (a boxday:// link or QR code) to the system share sheet. You choose where it goes. A level code contains only the room's layout.
Children
Box Day is suitable for all ages, and it collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. See also the Static Toad Labs privacy policy, which covers this website and emails you send us.
